Group Mission

Development of general arrangements and layouts schemes and allocation of aircraft parts.

AERODYNAMICS & FLIGHT DYNAMICS GROUP

Group Mission

Determining the aircraft aerodynamic characteristics through conducting aerodynamic calculations, analyzing and simulating via computational fluid dynamics and wind tunnel testing and simulating in different flight conditions, in addition to analyzing aircraft performance, stability, and control.

  • Conducting Stability and control analysis.

Conducting the required calculations to analyze and design the aircraft structure and assure its structural integrity and with minimum weight and highest strength to withstand all expected loads during its mission.

Group Mission

Design, modification, installation and testing of aircraft avionics systems.

  • Developing design documents for guidance, control and navigation systems, communication systems, and power plants payload systems.
  • Selecting the required avionics equipment and preparing the installation layout.
  • Preparing the operational documents and the electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Design of communication systems.
  • Design and development of test stands.

BIOFUEL

BIOFUEL GROUP

Group Mission

Development of certified, sustainable aviation Biofuels

Group Activities

  • Production of aviation biofuel products in lab scale (biojet and bioethanol)
  • Testing the physical and chemical properties of aviation biofuel from different feedstock.
  • Examining and evaluating the suitability of ethanol as a future fuel for agriculture aircraft in Sudan.
  • Examining and evaluating the suitability of jatropha jet fuel as a direct /indirect replacement for present jet fuel (gas turbine engines).
  • Development of combustion properties database for aviation biofuel.
  • Design and establishment of an advanced research lab for biofuel production and testing.
  • Design and establishment of engine test bench and standards laboratory.

ARC Engineering Codes

ARC is currently designing and developing engineering codes within the following projects:

  • Anti-ice system design for light airplanes
  • Load distribution analysis of light airplanes.
  • Free vibration and buckling of composite and metallic plates and shells.
  • Impact analysis of composite plates and shells with application in aeronautical engineering.
  • Landing gear calculations of light airplanes.
  • Bending and free vibration analysis of sandwich panels.
  • Hydraulic systems calculations.
